At the 37th National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) held at Airlangga University (UNAIR) from October 14-18, 2024, a team from Syiah Kuala University (USK) specialising in the Exact Research category of the Student Creativity Program (PKM-RE) proudly secured the Favourite Award. This achievement highlights the dedication and ability of USK students to develop relevant and impactful research that aligns with technological advancements and community needs.
Led by Muhammad Zia Ulhaq, a student in the Statistics program from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) USK, the team also included fellow Statistics students Muhammad Farid, T.M. Faiz Nuzula, and Zahra Ifma Aziza, along with Fakhrus Syakir from Electrical Engineering. Under the guidance of the experienced lecturer, Mr. Novy Reandy Sasmita, M.Sc., the team focused on developing machine learning and time series analysis technology with high applicability for monitoring environmental phenomena. A casual gathering of alums and current statistics students from Simeulue Regency was held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Warung Kopi near the Beach in Sinabang City.
